Bodycount Release Date Announced News

Having originally been pegged for a Q1 2011 release before being pushed back to an early summer launch, Codemasters has now pinned down a September 2nd release date for Bodycount in Europe and August 30th in the US.
The shooter was originally fostered under the vision of Stuart Black, the eponymous co-creator of Criterion and EA's 2006 title, Black. However, he left the project at Codemasters' Guildford studio amid allegations of "post-E3 fallout" last year.
"Having created a great vision and direction for Bodycount, Stuart has decided to move on after three years with us," said Codemasters Guildford's Studio Manager, Adrian Bolton at the time. "He will see out his design role until October [2010] and, through the transition period, will continue to work with the talented development team that will take the game through to completion."
Codemasters also released Bodycount's final box art alongside this release date announcement. As you can see from the comparitive shot with Black's PS2 box art, Codemasters has also taken the unorthodox approach of making the gun the star.
