Following the emergence of a dubious listing for an Xbox 360 version of the original Crysis on the Korean Ratings Board last week, a further classification on the American ESRB ratings site has added cement to the speculation.
The ESRB's classification lists PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, fuelling rumours that Crytek's original instalment in the series from 2007 is now being ported to the home consoles. The news appears to be pretty rock-solid as far as we're concerned, so expect a formal announcement from EA shortly.
Originally pitched as a hardcore shooter built specifically for high-end PC machines (Crysis was one of the first titles to go nuts with DX10), poor sales subsequently forced the series onto consoles for its sequel, which was released earlier this year.
We do have one query with these Xbox 360 and PS3 ports though, which is whether they'll ship with the 2008 Crysis spin-off, Crysis Warhead bundled-in for good measure. It would be quite the deal if EA and Crytek can squeeze both games in, so fingers crossed on that...
