Respawn Entertainment, the studio forged from the roaring flames of Jason West and Vince Zampella's departure from Infinity Ward last year, has released the first image for the new intellectual property that it's developing under the EA Partners program.
The image (shown right) doesn't reveal much about the project, or anything at all for that matter, so we're pretty much left with the same scant info that we already knew: it's a multi-platform sci-fi shooter, there is no estimated release window, and it's a new IP funded by the EA Partners program.
However, this new image has been taken from Respawn's freshly designed website, which went live over the last day or so. The site also has a section listing the developer's employees, a staggering 40 of which have come from Activision's Infinity Ward studio (which developed the Modern Warfare games).
To put that in context, Infinity Ward had around 100 developers working at the studio prior to West and Zampella's departure, indicating that the workforce at Activision's studio was nearly cut in half as a result of the controversy that subsequently led to multiple lawsuits. No wonder Sledgehammer Games were brought on-board to co-develop Modern Warfare 3.
