contrary to the what the above review states, the story is actually much greater than that of the original halo series. Those creative minds at ensemble studio must have more training in film that the Bungie staff, because their story line was not only driven by its own plot, but it actually succeeded in creating an emotional attachment to the characters of the game, and had a full story arc. The story line of this game is superb, and it shines in comparison to the Halo storyline. It contains a plot, conflict, plot twists, emotional ties, and almost every character has some sort of change by the end of the game. Honestly, I found myself re-watching the 30 some odd minutes of cutscenes in theater mode because I enjoyed the story so much (not to mention the tremendous level of detail and fluidity in the cutscene animations that kept me coming back for more). As for gameplay, the game IS shallow, no argument, but still fun. The only complaints I can make are these: the campaign starts out VERY easy... very very very easy. too easy; in multiplayer matches, the only strategy that is really successful is a rush, which doesn't allow the player to fully experience the (very few) levels of depth offered by the game. like the game, love the cutscenes (as an animator, these just awe me), and I would definitely recommend it.
