Burnout Paradise Download

Criterion Games has announced that Burnout Paradise will be available via download from the PLAYSTATION Network in the PLAYSTATION Store for $29.99 this Fall. No word yet as to the size of the download, but one should expect it to be hefty.

Earlier this year, Criterion Games kicked off ‘The Year of Paradise.' The Year of Paradise is a year-long direct-to-consumer program where Criterion Games regularly releases new game-changing downloadable content that is designed to evolve the game beyond its initial retail release.

The first update is already available, free of charge through the PLAYSTATION Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace. It includes three new game modes, new cars and 70 new multi-part challenges, extending the game with hours of new gameplay. The download pack also introduces a live news page where players can track their game progress and find out news on upcoming online multiplayer events. More game-changing downloadable content is coming this Fall for Burnout Paradise, including trophy support and motorcycles free of charge through the PLAYSTATION Network and Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Download Wolfenstein 3D

Activision and id Software have announced the classic and legendary first-person shooter, the original Wolfenstein 3D, will be available for download on 3rd June on Xbox LIVE Arcade and 4th June on PlayStation Network.

Gamers who missed out on the original 1992 MS-DOS game will now be able to see and play the game that started one of the most popular genres in gaming, the first person shooter.

In Wolfenstein 3D, gamers play the role of an American soldier named William "B.J." Blazkowicz who attempts to escape from the aptly named Nazi fortress: Castle Wolfenstein. As you explore the blue walled corridors, you will encounter armed Nazi guards, as well as attack dogs. There are several hidden alcoves, so don't be afraid to knock on the walls, as the hidden rooms contain treasure, food supplies, and medical kits. While the game is played on a completely flat environment (no running up or down hill, it is a 17 year-old game after all) it does have three different guns and ammunition.

Wolfenstein 3D features enemies like Hans Grosse and Mecha-Hitler await players in the six episodes that span 60 levels. While the game has been ported to systems ranging from the GBA to the iPhone, this will be the first chance next-gen gamers have had to relive this historic title.

As an additional incentive, gamers who play the downloadable Wolfenstein 3D can earn accolades and be awarded gold for customizable weapon upgrades in id Software’s all new, Wolfenstein. So, playing the original will give you an edge in the new game which will be available on August 7th for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
